SALEM, Ore. — Willamette University defeated Pacific University (Oregon) in four sets, 13-25, 25-14, 25-19, 25-17, on Saturday at Cone Field House. The Bearcats secured the win with a robust offensive effort, recording 51 kills to Pacific's 35. Willamette's serving contributed significantly with five aces, and their defense was highlighted by 61 digs. Despite losing the first set, the Bearcats' balanced attack and strong defense propelled them to a commanding victory.
Lexie Scott led Willamette with 15 kills, achieving a hitting percentage of .387 over three sets. Caroline Jameson contributed 13 kills and added three blocks, finishing with 14.5 points. Leina Chu was pivotal in setting up the offense, accumulating 38 assists across four sets. Alayna Hughes anchored the defense with 17 digs, aiding in the team's efforts.
