TACOMA, Wash. — Pacific Lutheran University defeated Willamette University 2-0 on Sunday at East Field. The Bearcats' goalkeeper recorded five saves, with three in the first half, but Pacific Lutheran's two goals in the first half secured the victory. The match saw a total attendance of 124.
The first half began with the Bearcats facing an early offensive surge from Pacific Lutheran. Siera Edwards made crucial saves to keep the score within reach, denying shots from Olivia Boehm and Marie Piho. Despite the defensive efforts, Pacific Lutheran capitalized on their opportunities, with Boehm scoring in the 9th minute and Zoe Markquart extending the lead in the 18th minute, both assisted by Kiana Gutierrez.
