Women's Cross Country 5th at PLU Invitational

TACOMA, Wash. — The Willamette University women's cross country team finished in fifth place at the PLU Invitational. The Bearcats and Central Washington both scored 159, with Willamette winning the tiebreaker. George Fox took first place with a dominant performance, accumulating 38 points, followed by Whitworth in second with 57 points and Pacific (Ore.) in third with 89 points.

Willamette's top runner was Mia Koernig, who secured a top-ten finish with a time of 23:11.5. The team's next scoring runners were Ada Boyd (28th, 23:59.3), Anna Bikle (30th, 24:03.7), and Elise Henderson (52nd, 25:13.2). Rachel Hamasaki rounded out the scoring for the Bearcats, finishing in 85th place with a time of 26:09.8.

The Bearcats' next race is on Sat. 4 when they host the 50th Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational.
