Volleyball earns Team Academic Award
American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award
SALEM, Ore. — The Willamette University volleyball team has earned the 2026 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, as announced by the national organization. The award honors collegiate and high school volleyball programs that maintain a high standard of academic excellence throughout the academic year.
To qualify for the AVCA Team Academic Award, programs must maintain a minimum cumulative team grade point average of 3.30 on a 4.00 scale (or 4.10 on a 5.00 scale) for the entire 2025–26 academic year, incorporating grades from all academic terms.
National Off-Court Success
Nationwide, 1,432 collegiate and high school teams earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2025–26 academic year, highlighting the sustained academic performance across all levels of the sport.

The AVCA Team Academic Award, initiated during the 1992–93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that display high achievements in the classroom. The American Volleyball Coaches Association, headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, is the leading professional organization for collegiate, high school, and club volleyball coaches nationwide.
