Thomas leads Bearcats at the West Regional Championship
Willamette finishes 3rd in the Division III team standings
FORT WORTH, Texas – The Willamette University Women's Triathlon team competed in the Women's Collegiate Triathlon West Regional Championship, a sprint triathlon held in Fort Worth, Texas, on October 26, 2025. The Bearcats finished the competition with a solid performance, securing 3rd place in the overall NCAA Division III team standings.
The Willamette squad earned 149 team points and finished with a cumulative time of 6:45:10.2.
The Bearcats were led by a trio of athletes who finished within 34 seconds of each other in the overall competition.
- Natalie Thomas was the top finisher for the Bearcats, placing 70th overall with a time of 1:19:51.42.
- Abbey Staniec followed closely behind, securing 71st place with a time of 1:19:58.79.
- Kalima Glascott rounded out the top three for Willamette, finishing in 74th place with a time of 1:20:25.21.
Other scoring athletes for Willamette included:
- Sofie Szigeti (77th place, 1:20:54.34)
- Maya Ryley (80th place, 1:24:00.45)
The team's sixth and seventh finishers were Paulina Pioszak (83rd place, 1:25:08.71) and Charlotte Andrews (88th place, 1:25:59.92).
