Thompson dominates Pentathlon events

SPOKANE, Wash. – A trio of Bearcats represented Willamette women's track alongside others at the indoor Whitworth Invitational this weekend, with multiple top-five finishes.

Ella Thompson was a high performer in the Pentathlon events. She took third place in the Pentathlon 60m Hurdles with a personal record of 9.66 seconds, followed with third place in the Pentathlon 800m. In Pentathlon Shot Put, she placed fourth with a throw of 9.14 meters. In Pentathlon Long Jump, Thompson earned first place with a season best of 5.12 meters, while in the final event of Pentathlon High Jump achieved ninth place.

In Women's High Jump, senior Whitley Stepp reached second place with 1.66 meters. Erica Snyder was unable to clear the opening height.
