High jump duo dominates at indoor opener
Whitley Stepp and Erica Snyder take the top two spots in the high jump
NEWBERG, Ore. – A small contingent of Bearcats delivered standout performances this weekend, highlighted by a dominant showing in the women's high jump and strong efforts across multiple disciplines.
The Bearcats made their presence felt in the field, securing the top two spots in the Women's High Jump. Senior Whitley Stepp claimed first place with a mark of 1.66m. She was followed closely by teammate Erica Snyder, who took second place with a jump of 1.63m.
In the Women's Long Jump, sophomore Ella Thompson earned a top-five finish, placing fifth with a best leap of 4.91m.
Junior Erica Snyder showcased her versatility on the track as well. In the prelims of the Women's 60m Hurdles, she clocked a personal record (PR) of 9.92 seconds to qualify for the finals, where she ultimately placed eighth with a time of 10.44. Sophomore Ella Thompson also competed in the 60m Hurdles prelims, finishing 15th with a time of 10.27.
