Mucken and Snyder Headed to NCAA Div III Outdoor Track & Field Championships
Steeley Mucken and Erica Snyder have been selected to participate in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Mucken will compete in the Javelin and Snyder in the High Jump. The championships will be held May 22-24 at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The men's javelin is scheduled to be contested on Thursday, May 22nd, and the women's high jump will take place on Friday, May 23rd.
Mucken qualified for the championships based on his throw at the Linfield Invitational on April 5, 2025. His throw of 65.50 meters won the event and set a Willamette University record, surpassing the previous record of 65.41 set by Jordan Loos in 2014. Mucken placed third at this year's Northwest Conference Championships with a throw of 61.42 meters.
Snyder had cleared her qualifying height of 1.67 meters at the 2025 Oregon Twilight Meet on May 9, 2025. That was a career best for the junior and helped her win that event. Snyder placed sixth in the high jump at the 2025 Northwest Conference Championships with a height of 1.56 meters. She cleared 1.63m in the high jump at the NWC Multi-Event Championships, where she finished in sixth place in the Heptathlon.
