Willamette Rolls Past Pacific, 8-1
(WOMEN'S TENNIS) FOREST GROVE, ORE. -- Willamette University outplayed Pacific University in a Northwest Conference match on Friday, March 30, as the Bearcats defeated the Boxers, 8-1, at the Holce Tennis Courts. Willamette improved to 5-10 overall, including 4-7 in the NWC. Pacific fell to 0-13 overall, 0-11 in the NWC.

Tiffany Kam (Jr., Pearl City, HI/Punahou HS) and Alaine Anderson (Jr., Santa Ana, CA/Foothills HS) won the #1 doubles match, 8-5, over Dayna Wong and Jaime Yoshino of Pacific. The Bearcats also claimed victories at #2 and #3 doubles.
Susan Butler (Sr., Boise, ID/Boise HS) led the way for Willamette in singles by defeating Wong in the #1 match, 6-2, 6-1. Kam won #2 singles over Yoshino, 6-1, 6-2. The Bearcats also were victorious in three of the remaining singles flights, with Pacific recording its only win at #5 singles, as the Boxers' Tess Krebs defeated Emily Elliott (Fr., Woodside, CA/Woodside Priory), 6-0, 6-1.
Anderson, who won both of her singles matches during WU's trip to Texas, continued her winning ways with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Ashley Spahn at #3 singles. All of Willamette's wins were in straight sets.
The Bearcats return home to host Pacific Lutheran University in an NWC match on Saturday, March 31. The doubles matches are set to start at 1 p.m. (PDT) at the Willamette University Tennis Courts.
