Bearcats Take Second Place at Warner Pacific Invitational

PORTLAND, ORE. -- Willamette University took second place in the team standings at the Warner Pacific Invitational, held on Monday, Oct. 7 and Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Glendoveer Golf Course in Portland, Ore.

Elise Levy (So., Reno, NV/Bishop Manogue HS) shot a two-day total of 238 (80-75-83) for fourth place in the individual standings.

Sunny Powers (76-77-79) and Kelsey Whiles (81-78-73), both of Concordia University (Ore.) took first place in the competition with a total score of 232. Haley Partridge of Northwest Christian University registered 237 (80-79-78) to earn third place, while Baylee Borchers of College of Idaho took fifth with a score of 239 (81-77-81).

Mckenzie Weinhold (Jr., Placerville, CA/El Dorado HS/Univ. of Nevada-Reno) finished the tournament at 252 (83-85-84) and owned 10th place in the standings. Taneesh Sra (So., Fremont, CA/Mission San Jose HS) was 15th with a score of 170 (86-84-87).

Also participating for Willamette were LettaJoe Gallup (Jr., Alameda, CA/Holy Names HS) and Jessi Weaver (Fr., Lincoln City, OR/Taft HS). Gallup carded a 54-hole score of 261 (85-87-89) to tie for 16th place, while Weaver finished the tournament at 267 (87-87-93).

Concordia finished first in the team standings with a score of 952 (319-317-316). Willamette's second place score of 1008 included 334 in the first round and 331 in the second round. College of Idaho finished third at 1018 (333-338-347).

Corban University was fourth at 1063 (352-349-362), with Warner Pacific College (Ore.) in fifth at 1106 (372-360-374) and Northwest Christian in sixth at 1123 (375-371-377). Oregon Institute of Technology concluded the day in seventh place at 1162 (398-384-380).

The Bearcats' next and final tournament of the fall season will be the NWC Fall Classic, set for Oct. 26-27 at Stone Creek Golf Course in Oregon City, Ore.
