Snyder and Stepp earn USTFCCCA Academic Awards
NEW ORLEANS, La. — Willamette University track and field athletes Erica Snyder and Whitley Stepp have been named 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Track & Field All-Academic Athletes by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Women's team was also named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.
Student-athletes earned the award through academic and athletic success. Each All-Academic athlete recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher (4.0 scale) while either competing at the NCAA Division III Championships or by finishing the regular season ranked in the top 50 nationally in an individual event or in the top 35 in a relay event.
To be named an NCAA Division III All-Academic Team, a cumulative team GPA (not 2023-24 academic year, not semester) of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least a 3.1. The Willamette women's track and field team had a cumulative GPA of 3.53.
652 athletes from 173 NCAA Division III institutions were named All-Academic Athletes and 216 teams were named All-Academic Team.
