Rebol is Selected NWC Women's Track Student-Athlete of the Week
SALEM, ORE. -- Erynn Rebol (Sr., Cottonwood, CA/Red Bluff Union HS) of Willamette University has been chosen as the Northwest Conference Women's Track Student-Athlete of the Week for her efforts at the Willamette Opener on Saturday, March 2. Rebol won the 800-meter run for a great start to the season at the Charles Bowles Track.
Wins 800-Meter Run at Willamette Opener
SALEM, ORE. -- Erynn Rebol (Sr., Cottonwood, CA/Red Bluff Union HS) of Willamette University has been chosen as the Northwest Conference Women's Track Student-Athlete of the Week for her efforts at the Willamette Opener on Saturday, March 2. Rebol won the 800-meter run for a great start to the season at the Charles Bowles Track.
Rebol achieved a winning time of 2:17.00 as she established a new personal-best in the event. She won by 6.08 seconds over Katie McKay of Whitworth University, who finished second in 2:23.08. Stevie Gildehaus (Sr., Spokane Valley, WA/University HS) of Willamette was third in 2:23.26. Rebol's time ranks first in the NWC this season.
Willamette's track and field teams will compete at the Lane Preview this weekend. The meet will be hosted by Lane Community College in Eugene, Ore.
Action will begin on Friday, March 8 with the throwing events, which will start at 2 p.m. (PST). On Saturday, March 9, the remaining field events will begin at 10:45 a.m. and the running events will get underway at 11 a.m.
Erynn Rebol won the 800-meter run at the Willamette Opener in 2:17.00.
