Bearcat Swimming Teams Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Awards

SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University men's and women's swimming teams have received the Scholar All-America award from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for the spring of 2014. The award requires a team semester grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University men's swimming team achieved a successful 2013-14 season on its way to taking fifth place at the Northwest Conference Championships. The Bearcats finished in front of the other three NWC teams from Oregon and defeated all three of those teams in dual meets.

FEDERAL WAY, WASH. -- Alex Guffey (So., Seattle, WA/Roosevelt HS) of Willamette University placed fifth in the men's 100-yard freestyle and teammate Alika Masei (Fr., Salem, OR/West Salem HS) was sixth in the men's 200-yard backstroke on the final evening of the 2014 Northwest Conference Swimming Championships on Sunday, Feb. 16 at the King County Aquatic Center.
