Bearcats and Pioneers are Postponed by the Rain in Softball
PORTLAND, ORE. -- The softball teams from Willamette University and Lewis & Clark College were rained out of action on Saturday, April 5, forcing the postponement of their Northwest Conference doubleheader. No make-up date was determined.
Teams are Scheduled to Play a Doubleheader on Sunday in Portland
PORTLAND, ORE. -- The softball teams from Willamette University and Lewis & Clark College were rained out of action on Saturday, April 5, forcing the postponement of their Northwest Conference doubleheader. No make-up date was determined.
WU and L&C are still set to play a regularly scheduled doubleheader on Sunday, April 6 at the Huston Sports Complex. The Bearcats and the Loggers will attempt to begin Sunday's twinbill at 12 p.m. (PDT).
The Bearcats currently hold third place in the Northwest Conference. Willamette is 14-13 overall, 10-7 in the NWC. Lewis & Clark owns an overall record of 9-10,. including 5-14 in the NWC. The Pioneers are seventh in the NWC standings.
Live Stat will be available throughout Sunday's doubleheader if the teams are able to play.
Following the doubleheader with Lewis & Clark, the Bearcats are slated to host Pacific Lutheran University on Tuesday. April 8 in the continuation of a game started on March 8. The postponed game with the Lutes will begin at 4 p.m. (PDT) with the teams tied 2-2 and Willamette batting in the bottom of the first inning.
Willamette also will host a pair of make-up games against George Fox University on Wednesday, April 9. First pitch in the opening game is scheduled for 3 p.m. (PDT).
Myranda Ramirez is batting .302 for the Bearcats and is 10 for 12 on stolen bases this season.
