Men's Cross Country Takes 3rd at NWC Championships
Thomas Bernadicou earns 2nd Team All-Conference
TACOMA, Wash. – The Willamette University men's cross country team had a strong showing at the Northwest Conference Championships, taking third place overall. The Bearcats tallied a total of 92 points, with a team total time of 2:12:33.44 and an average time of 26:30.69.
First-year talent Thomas Bernadicou led the way for Willamette, finishing in 7th place with a time of 26:02.72. Bernadicou's top-10 performance earned him a spot on the Second Team All-Conference squad.
The Bearcats placed three other runners among the top 20 finishers, contributing significantly to the team's third-place finish:
Adam Lewis finished 17th with a time of 26:25.96, Treyton Marty finished 19th with a time of 26:26.53, and Jay Chew finished 20th with a time of 26:27.32. The Bearcats' fifth scoring runner was Austen Grabbe, who finished 29th with a time of 27:10.91.
George Fox University claimed the team title with 37 points, followed by Whitworth in second with 77 points. Willamette's third-place finish put them ahead of Lewis & Clark (4th, 102 points) and Whitman (5th, 120 points).
