Three Bearcats Qualify for DIII Championships
Roan Bashioum, Steeley Mucken, and Austin Snodgrass head to Wisconsin.
SALEM, Ore. — The Willamette University track and field program is proud to announce that three members of the men's team have officially qualified for the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The national meet will be held from May 21–23 at Veteran's Memorial Field in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
The Bearcats will be represented by an elite trio of throwers: Steeley Mucken (Javelin), Austin Snodgrass (Discus), and Roan Bashioum (Hammer). All three athletes enter the championships ranked among the top 22 in the nation in their respective disciplines.
Roan Bashioum | Junior | Hammer
Junior Roan Bashioum rounds out the Willamette delegation, qualifying in the hammer throw. Bashioum enters the championships as the 21st seed with a mark of 57.45 meters. His technical progression throughout the season culminated in this national selection, continuing Willamette's long-standing tradition of excellence in the heavy throws.
Steeley Mucken | Junior | Javelin
Mucken leads the Willamette contingent as one of the top-ranked throwers in the country. He enters the meet as the No. 4 seed in the javelin with a qualifying mark of 64.08 meters. A returning national qualifier, Mucken has demonstrated remarkable consistency throughout the spring and will be a major contender for a podium spot and All-American honors.
Austin Snodgrass | Sophomore | Discus
Sophomore Austin Snodgrass has secured his first trip to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the discus. Snodgrass is seeded 19th nationally with a qualifying throw of 51.15 meters. His breakthrough sophomore campaign saw him rise through the West region rankings, and he now enters a deep national field looking to contend for a spot in the finals.
