SPOKANE, Wash. — The Willamette University soccer team and Whitworth University played to a 2-2 draw on Saturday at Whitworth Soccer Field. Both teams were scoreless in the first half before combining for four goals in the second half. Willamette scored twice through coordinated plays, while Whitworth countered with two goals to equalize. The game featured six shots on goal from each side and a total of five yellow cards, reflecting a physically intense contest.
Brenden Pineda scored one goal and led the Bearcats with five shots, four of which were on target. Ky Iliev contributed with four shots, including one on goal, maintaining offensive pressure. Dylan Rosie found the back of the net with his only shot, adding to the Bearcats' goal tally. Drew Alexander provided an assist, setting up one of the scoring opportunities. Mikkel Jensen, in goal, recorded four saves over the course of 90 minutes, facing 15 shots.
