SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University has hired Lloyd Fobi as the head men's soccer coach for the Bearcats, Director of Athletics Mark Majeski announced today. Fobi will begin his duties as head coach immediately.
SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University men's soccer teams has named its award winners from the 2010 season. Each year, players on the team choose the award winners by voting for the Most Valuable Player, Leadership Award, Most Inspirational Award and Most Improved Award.
SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University men's soccer players Brendan Dineen (Jr., D, Portland, OR/Grant HS) and Mike McGrew (So., MF, Portland, OR/Grant HS) have been chosen Honorable Mention All-Northwest Conference in voting by the NWC head coaches.
McMINNVILLE, ORE. -- The statistics for the two teams were nearly even, but Linfield College found a way to produce two goals as the Wildcats defeated Willamette University, 2-0, on Saturday, Nov. 6. Both teams took 14 shots during the game, and Willamette held a slim 10-9 edge in shots on goal. Each squad earned three corner kicks.
WALLA WALLA, WASH. -- Whitman College defeated visiting Willamette University, 2-0, in Northwest Conference men's soccer action on Sunday, Oct. 31. The Missionaries scored their first goal with just over four minutes remaining in the first half and added a second goal with 1:16 left in the game.
SPOKANE, WASH. -- The Whitworth University men's soccer team scored two second half goals to defeat the visiting Willamette University Bearcats, 2-0, on Saturday, Oct. 30. Willamette held the Pirates scoreless for 65 minutes but were unable to hang on for a tie or a victory.

NEWBERG, ORE. -- Willamette University and George Fox University played 90 minutes of regulation and two 10-minute overtime periods on their way to a 0-0 tie on Sunday, Oct. 17, as both teams kept the opposition off the scoreboard. Willamette moved to 3-8-3 overall, 1-6-2 in the NWC. George Fox went to 0-10-2 on the season, including 0-8-1 in the NWC.
FOREST GROVE, ORE. -- Pacific University defeated Willamette University, 1-0, in Northwest Conference men's soccer on Saturday, Oct. 16. Pacific advanced its season record to 10-1-2, 6-1-1 in the NWC. Willamette moved to 3-8-2 on the season, 1-6-1 in the NWC.

Linfield advanced its season record to 5-5-1, 4-3-0 in the NWC. Willamette moved to 3-7-2 on the season, 1-5-1 in the NWC.

UPS improved its record to 5-1-2 overall, 2-0 in the Northwest Conference. The Bearcats fell to 2-4-1 overall, including 0-2 in the NWC.
