Bearcats tied for 27th at the NCAA Championship
Brock Olson led the Bearcats at 61st individually
HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. — The Willamette Bearcats finished tied for 27th at the NCAA DIII Men's National Championship with a team total of 607 (+35) over two rounds at Mission Inn Resort - El Campeon. Despite their efforts, after two rounds, Willamette did not make the cut at 18 to continue playing.
Senior Brock Olson led the Bearcats with a consistent performance, tying for 61st individually at 148 (+5), after rounds of 75 (+3) and 73 (+2). Junior Alexander Papajohn closely followed, tying for 88th with a total of 150 (+7), improving with a second round 72 (+1) after starting with 78 (+6). Freshman Michael Baldwin finished tied for 132nd, carding a 154 (+11) with rounds of 76 (+4) and 78 (+7). Junior Jack Carr posted a 155 (+12), tying for 144th, with consistent rounds of 78 (+6) and 77 (+6). Senior Oliver Smith rounded out the team, tying for 204th with a score of 163 (+20), improving from an opening 84 (+12) to a 79 (+8) in the second round.
