Men’s Golf Maintains Top-15 Rank
The Bearcats travel to Tennessee next week with the hope of improving their national rank.
NORMAN, Okla. – The Willamette University men's golf team remains a fixture among the nation's elite, securing the No. 15 spot in the Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll released on March 27.
The Bearcats earned 145 points in the latest national voting, holding their position from the previous poll. The ranking comes on the heels of a strong spring showing, including a tie for second place at the Willamette Valley Cup on March 15. At that event, Jack Carr led the charge for the Bearcats, finishing under par (-1) to pace a competitive field.
Nationally, Huntingdon remains the unanimous No. 1 following a dominant victory at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational. Other notable West Region and Northwest Conference (NWC) competitors in the Top 25 include Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (No. 7), Pomona-Pitzer (No. 23), and Whitman College (No. 24).
Willamette currently leads the Northwest Conference midseason poll and is favored to repeat as conference champions. The Bearcats will look to climb even higher in the national standings as they prepare for the NWC Spring Classic on April 4-5, followed by the NWC Championships later in the month.
The next Bushnell/Golfweek DIII Coaches Poll is scheduled for release on April 18.
