Willamette wins Whitworth Invitational, Carr finishes 2nd to lead the B team
SPOKANE, Wash. — The Willamette University clinched first place at the Whitworth Fall Invitational with a two-round total of 564 (-4), finishing 14 strokes ahead of Whitworth University. Jack Carr propelled the Bearcats' second squad to a third-place team finish with a remarkable personal score of 137 (-5), including a second-round 68 (-3).
Jack Carr led the Bearcats with an impressive performance, finishing second overall with a five-under-par 137. Carr's consistent play included a 69 (-2) in the first round, followed by an improved 68 (-3) in the final round.
AJ Papajohn secured third place with a three-under-par 139. He shot an even-par 71 in the first round and followed up with a remarkable 68 (-3) in the second round.
Michael Baldwin tied for fourth with a final score of 141 (-1), featuring a notable first round of 67 (-4). Baldwin finished with a 74 in the second round.
Oliver Smith also tied for fourth place, matching Baldwin's final score of 141 (-1). Smith improved significantly in the second round, shooting a 68 (-3) after a first-round 73.
Bryce Toledo-Lue finished sixth with an even-par 142. He started strong with a 69 in the first round and concluded with a 73 in the second round.
