Plofker Registers Back-to-Back 75's, Ties for Sixth at NWC Championship

KENNEWICK, WASH. -- The Bearcat men's golf team from Willamette University finished the 2012 Northwest Conference Championship Tournament in seventh place with an overall score of 634, as the tournament concluded with the final 18 holes on Sunday, April 22. The Bearcats shot 314 on the first day and 320 on Sunday.

KENNEWICK, WASH. -- Willamette University is in sixth place after the first round of the 2012 Northwest Conference Championship Tournament with a score of 314 at Canyon Lakes Golf Course. The Bearcats are 11 points out of third place. Linfield leads the team standings at 293.

SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University men's golf team will compete at the 2012 Northwest Conference Championship Tournament on April 21-22 at Canyon Lakes Golf Course in Kennewick, Wash. The Bearcats and athletes for the other eight NWC teams will be battling to win the tournament, which counts for one-half of the overall NWC men's golf championship.

SALEM, ORE. -- Ryan Kukula (Fr., Ocean Park, WA/Ilwaco HS) of Willamette University shot a 78 in the second round of the Willamette Invitational on Sunday, April 15 to finish the tournament tied for sixth place at 158. Kukula and teammate Jonathan Ross (Fr., Tukwila, WA/foster HS), who also carded a 78 on Sunday, were two of seven golfers to break 80 in the second round.

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS -- Ryan Kukula (Fr., Ocean Park, WA/Ilwaco HS) from Willamette University tied for 17th place out of 60 golfers with a 54-hole total of 235 at the West Region Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday, April 10 at the Berry Creek Country Club.

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS -- Willamette University freshman golfer Ryan Kukula (Fr., Ocean Park, WA/Ilwaco HS) shot a 70 during the second 18 holes on Monday, April 9 to tie for the low round of the day, as the first two rounds at Berry Creek Country Club were completed to start the West Region Invitational. Kukula overcame an 85 in the first round to move into a tie for 11th overall at 155.

PENDLETON, ORE. -- Willamette University finished in seventh place at the Northwest Conference Spring Classic in men's golf after shooting 328 on the final round, Sunday, April 1 at the Wildhorse Golf Course. The Bearcats shot 641 for the two-day tournament, including a score of 313 in the first round on Saturday.

PENDLETON, ORE. -- The Bearcats on the Willamette University men's golf team were in sixth place, but only 14 strokes out of the lead, after the first day of the Northwest Conference Spring Classic on Saturday, March 31 at the Wildhorse Golf Course. Pacific Lutheran recorded the lowest team score of the day at 299, but the Lutes owned just a 1-stroke lead.

SALEM, ORE. -- Wet ground due to rain and snow overnight resulted in the cancellation of the second round of the Salem Collegiate Cup, set for Tuesday, March 13 at Illahe Hills Country Club. Results from the first round, held at Creekside Golf Club on Monday, March 12, are now the final results. Corban won the men's team title, while Willamette University finished second and Pacific University was third.

Corban University led the team standings, while Willamette was second and Pacific University was third.

McMINNVILLE, ORE. -- Ryan Kukula (Fr., Ocean Park, WA/Ilwaco HS) of Willamette University shot a 1-over-par 73 to achieve second place in the individual standings at the Linfield Three-Way on Saturday, Oct. 8 at Michelbook Country Club. Alex Fitch of Linfield won the tournament title by four strokes with a 3-under-par 69.
