Four Bearcats Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors
Overby will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
SALEM, Ore. – Four members of the Willamette University men's basketball team—Anujan Tennathur, Pearson Wiggins, Tyler Stringfellow, and Tanner Overby—have been named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
The Academic All-District® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. All four Bearcats met the rigorous academic and athletic requirements, including maintaining a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and competing in at least 90% of the team's games or starting in at least 66% of them.
Tanner Overby (So., Guard | Portland, OR)
Overby put together a historic sophomore campaign, leading the Bearcats with 560 total points. He appeared in 23 games, shooting an efficient 192-for-369 from the field and a stellar 151-for-174 (86.8%) from the free-throw line. Overby also led the team in field goals made, free throws made, and steals (54).

Season Highlight: Scored a season-high 39 points against Whitman on Jan. 30, hitting five 3-pointers. He also grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds against George Fox on Jan. 27.
Anujan Tennathur (Jr., Guard | Cupertino, CA)
Tennathur appeared in 26 games, totaling 303 points and leading the team on the boards with 155 total rebounds (124 defensive). He displayed versatility across the stat sheet with 51 steals and 49 assists while shooting 100-for-259 from the floor.

Season Highlight: Notched a season-high 22 points and 7 assists on Nov. 22 at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Defensively, he recorded a season-high 7 steals against UC Santa Cruz on Nov. 24.
Tyler Stringfellow (So., Guard | Sayulita, Mexico)
A key perimeter threat, Stringfellow appeared in 29 games and scored 181 points. He led the bench unit's long-range efforts, shooting 45-for-125 from beyond the arc and totaling 41 rebounds, 20 assists, and 18 steals.

Season Highlight: Drilled five 3-pointers in two separate games: Nov. 15 vs. Walla Walla (17 points) and Jan. 24 at Pacific. He shot a season-best 60% from the field and 3-point range against Asbury on Dec. 18.
Pearson Wiggins (So., Forward | San Tan Valley, AZ)
Wiggins provided a dominant interior presence, appearing in 28 games and leading the Bearcats with 24 blocks and 48 offensive rebounds. He totaled 96 points and 112 rebounds on the season while shooting an impressive 61.7% (42-of-68) from the field.

Season Highlight: Recorded a double-double at George Fox on Dec. 5 with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while adding a season-best 4 blocks. He shot 80% (4-for-5) from the field against Asbury on Dec. 18.
By earning Academic All-District® honors, Overby was selected as a finalist and will advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-April.
