Bearcats throttle Asbury 92-69

SALEM, Ore. — Willamette University defeated Asbury University 92-69 at Cone Field House on Thursday night. The Bearcats led by as many as 23 points, fueled by a 57.8% shooting performance from the field. The home team recorded 16 steals and scored 48 points in the paint, dominating the game from start to finish. The Eagles managed to hit 12 three-pointers, but Willamette's strong defense forced 20 turnovers, ensuring a decisive victory.
Willamette dominated the first half with a strong inside presence, scoring 28 points in the paint and capitalizing on turnovers to produce 10 points. The home team shot an impressive 66 percent from the field, converting 21 of 32 attempts, and recorded 10 assists, demonstrating effective ball movement. Defensively, the Bearcats held Asbury to 39 points by forcing eight turnovers and securing four blocks. At the end of the half, Willamette led 55-39.
The Bearcats' strong performance in the paint, scoring 20 points, contributed significantly to their half advantage over the Eagles.
