Turner is Named NWC Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week
SALEM, ORE. -- Senior wide receiver Jake Turner (Ontario, OR/Ontario HS) of Willamette University has been named Northwest Conference Football Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week for his accomplishments in the Bearcats' 38-24 victory against East Texas Baptist University on Friday, Sept. 14. Turner set career-highs with 11 catches for 173 yards. He scored two touchdowns.

SALEM, ORE. -- Senior wide receiver Jake Turner (Ontario, OR/Ontario HS) of Willamette University has been named Northwest Conference Football Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week for his accomplishments in the Bearcats' 38-24 victory against East Texas Baptist University on Friday, Sept. 14. Turner set career-highs with 11 catches for 173 yards. He scored two touchdowns.
Turner recorded his first touchdown of the game on a 19-yard pass from quarterback Josh Dean (Jr., Dana Point, CA/Dana Hills HS) with 7:52 left in the second quarter. He scored again with 8:55 left in the third quarter on an 8-yard pass from Dean.
His longest catch of the game covered 28 yards on 4th-and-7 from the ETBU 35-yard line to set up Willamette's opening touchdown midway through the first quarter.
For the season, Turner leads the Bearcats with 16 pass receptions for 308 yards. Has has registered a total of four touchdown catches in Willamette's first two games.
