SALEM, Ore. — Willamette University (7-16, 4-8 NWC) achieved a notable doubleheader against Whitworth University (16-13, 11-3 NWC) at Spec Keene Stadium, winning both games with scores of 4-3 and 9-4.
In Game 1, Willamette secured a narrow 4-3 victory, taking an early lead with a run in the first inning and solidifying their position with three runs in the fifth, highlighted by Carter Stoltz's pivotal three-run homer. Whitworth responded with two runs in the third inning, thanks to Spencer Shipman's two-run homer, briefly taking a 2-1 lead.
