Willamette and Simpson Suspend Game in Top of 10th Inning Tied 4-4
REDDING, CALIF. -- The Willamette University and Simpson University (Calif.) baseball teams battled to a 4-4 deadlock after nine innings on Friday, Feb. 10 before the game was suspended in the top of 10th due to wet grounds. The field, which was wet at the start of the game, was in worse condition by the end of the first nine stanzas.

Willamette and Simpson will resume the game at 12 p.m. (PST) on Saturday, Feb. 11 in weather that is expected to be better than Friday. It is the season opener for Willamette and the ninth game of the year for Simpson.
After the suspended game is completed, the teams will play the previously scheduled doubleheader already set for Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats and Red Hawks are slated to conclude the four-game series on Sunday, Feb. 12, starting at 11 a.m. (PST).
